Deborah E (aka Ellingson), has been involved in the Industry since 1979 when she was discovered, while running a health clinic in Calgary Alberta. This was Dee Lippingwell. While working closely with fashion designer Trish Northrup (now based in Toronto), Together they developed, and choreographed designer night club fashion shows with lights and live music. Shortly after Dee Lippingwell and Deborah traveled to Los Angeles to do a photo shoot at Columbia Studios. It was here that they discovered the theatrical aspect of their work together. They both share the same passion which is still caught in their continued work together to this day. Deborah was thrilled to get on set those days, with likes of Catherine Hepburn, and Bob Hope,

Deborah's keen business sense combined with her natural love of the camera, soon developed into her career as a freelance international print and commercial work artist, by using her business sense to create ads for clothing stores and products. Her international travels and perseverance have allowed her to taste most aspects of the entertainment industry. Her work experiences have included acting, modelling, advertising, commercial work, singing, music videos, live theatre, and film & television Deborah has been known to break out to sing a show time musical number or two, and is now singing tenor with the PAL Vancouver chorus, director/arranger Diana Lines.

Deborah's career in the related industry took off unexpectedly, and quickly. She moved to Vancouver, and was quickly featured in a centerfold in Vancouver magazine, noted as, one of the six up and coming in Vancouver. At this time she had just finished a principle role in a Fitness World commercial, and a featured video with ZZ Top, and about to start a Neil Simon play, when overnight she was called to Singapore to locate her three young son's, who were with their father. While in Singapore she shot Max T2, which caused a lot of media hype (being viewed at the new Changi Airport), at the time. Singapore was also where the love of theatre was developed rather quickly, having to take over another actors principal role mid show, going on with great media, reviews and pictures.

Deborah's quest for knowledge has been of the utmost importance throughout her life. From her undergraduate studies of human rights law, to her passion in advocacy for numerous organizations; travelling nationally and internationally. While a good part of the time she was facing, dealing with, and overcoming extraordinary family and health issues of her own. Her ability for writing has been developed through these challenges, which she refers to as "stepping stones "to something way better when its all over. Some of her best years were in helping youth at risk, in the courthouse with John Howard, Grief to Action, and the BC Coalition of People with Disabilities. Deborah also developed a complete and informative manual for youth at risk, and was asked to sit on the City Hall to work with the the mayor, and committee on the Youth Justice Act. Deborah also developed a national awareness program for students with disabilities, while being a member of the student union for Capilano University.

Deborah also worked as a promoter of music in Vancouver, by encouraging great new artists, and letting their talent be seen, through benefits shows and social gatherings, bringing stem cell awareness. Deborah is no longer in the suburbs of Kerrisdale, but has moved down to Coal Harbour, to a beautiful place called PAL Theater, where she resides, and of course is Front of House for the theater! She has been working her whole life, combining all of the legal facts to one day finish re-writing a movie written about her true life story rights. Through the help of Lindsay Walker, Deborah was able to to get her rights back, which she is eternally grateful for...
For now, Deborah is not ready to retire by any means, Signed with Ignite Artists, and is working diligently learning, writing and studying to resume her career in acting! You have to work a lot harder then we did in earlier days, and have an understanding of social media...or know someone who does, as it moves faster now!

Skills and Interests

Out side of a life of commercial print modelling and acting; I also promoted music/shows and adult stem cell awareness. I am also a writer, family historian, and lover of good music! I am a proud mother of three son's, three beautiful granddaughters, three great granddaughters, and one great grandson. I have represented many boards nationally as a legal advocate, which is something you never get out of your system; therefore a solver of problems. I like walking, biking, yoga, strength training, plates, swimming, gardening, cooking and writing. I love to dance and sing, and work around creative people. My family is precious to me, therefore I take one day a week with them; as often as I can. I also worked many years Nationally as a legal advocate, on a number of Vancouver boards. I have very high skills in communication and organization, and enjoy singing tenor, with the Pal Vancouver Chorus!
